Polkadot Shirley is a one woman venture run from a little workshop tucked away in Cyprus.
The name hails from the polkadot-clad lady in my main photograph. She is my late grandmother, the enigmatic Shirley.
It is in this workshop that dog-earred books, out-of-date maps, battered old annuals, long forgotten music scores and various other paraphernalia are given a magnificent new lease of life!
They leave proudly, revived and transformed into unique daydream boxes, jewellery, brooches and cards oozing with nostalgia. My own watercolor and psychedelic art is also starting to find its way into some of my creations.
Whether it's tapping into the imagination, rekindling the magic of childhood or supplying a cheery dose of nostalgia, Polkadot Shirley's aim is to spread happiness far and wide.
